Now, I love high end products as much as the next girl. Richly pigmented, buttery textures, luxurious are all things that come to mind when high end is involved, even though we all know that's not always the case. However, nothing is more satisfying than finding absolute gems at bargain prices...and that ladies and gents is exactly what we have here.

This is my first venture into Hard Candy cosmetics and I couldn't be more pleased. First up is their 3x a Charm Contouring Face Trio. This is divided into three sections: luminizer, blush and bronzer. There is very subtle sparkly bits in the lighter luminizer section, but the rest just gives the skin a gorgeous sheen. The texture is buttery smooth and all three colours come together to make a coral, pinkish, champagne-y glow. I think the look it gives to the skin is very reminiscent of MAC's Stereo Rose, which I absolutely love. I didn't find it emphasised pores either.

The Hard Candy 3x a Charm Contouring Face Trio is $9 at Walmart for 11g/0.388 oz. There are three other shades available and I'm definitely going back for 3rd Wheel and 3x a Lady.

Next is the much loved Hard Candy Kal-Eye-Descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in High Maintenance. There is a champagne on the left and a warm medium brown on the right. This has a stiffer texture and isn't as soft and smooth as 3x a Charm, so I recommend a flat shader brush to apply. The colour pay off is really nice and it's easily buildable. Pop the champagne all over the lid with a bit of the brown on the outer edge and blended up into the crease combined with the 3x a Charm on the cheeks. Hello summer glow

Hard Candy Kal-Eye-Descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in High Maintenance can be found at Walmart for $6 for 4.5g/0.15oz. of product.

To be honest, I heard Forever 21 released a makeup line I just brushed it off and carried on. However, a few weeks ago I was in their store and began testing their products. In the end I picked up two: Desert Sand 502, a pinky rosy champagne (shown above) and Mink 505, warm brown similar to MAC's Sable eyeshadow, well to me at least. I actually really like the packaging. It's minimal and acrylic seems very sturdy. The texture is smooth and not the slightest bit chalky. There is a bit of glitter running through this, so if you're not a fan of glitter maybe pass on this one.

This is Mink 505, which is my favourite of the two. This could easily be one of those "one eyeshadow does it all" kind of shade for a quick subtle smokey eye. The texture is so smooth and buttery, more so than Desert Sand 502

Both of these can be found in stores at Forever 21 or online. On their packaging they're both marked as "shimmer eyeshadows", but on the website Mink 505 is listed as "classic eyeshadow". They are $7.80 for 5g/0.18oz.

So tell me...have you found any beauty bargain gems recently?
