Review: Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Mascara

Let's just get it out there...I have a love affair with Tarte mascaras. I've tried their Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara, as well as their Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart mascara and really enjoyed them both. So, naturally this made me curious to try their newest edition, Lights, Camera, Flashes...ladies and gentlemen, it's a good one.

Okay,  so the packaging is a bit on the tacky side but it's what's inside that counts. I think it's the perfect "daytime" mascara. As you can see my eyelashes are nothing to write home about and mascara is a necessity in my book. Lights, Camera, Flashes gives great length, volume and it builds on itself nicely. To me it doesn't look too dramatic or over the top for daytime. This held a curl well throughout the day and I also found that even if I didn't curl my lashes beforehand this mascara provided a good curl on its own. I had no problems with smudging on the upper lashes, however on the lower lashes it did transfer by the end of a work day (which is why I don't have mascara on my bottom lashes). Also, I think it's important to note that this is a bit difficult to get off. Warm water works much better than cold, but I've been using a cleanse off oil and that works a treat.

All in all, it's a really good mascara. Would I buy it again? Yes. Is it my "holy grail" be all end all mascara? No, but I'm a junkie and love hoarding/buying ridiculous amounts of mascara, haha.

You can purchase Tarte's Lights, Camera, Flashes at Sephora stores, online or at QVC.com for $23 for 9ml/0.31fl.oz.
