Review: Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Eyeshadow

If my cousin, Stephanie, didn't come into town this purchase probably wouldn't have happened. She loves makeup just as much as the next addict, so the combination is dangerous as you can imagine. Stephanie was going on about how gorgeous the new Josie Maran Coconut Watercolour Eyeshadows  were how she wanted to get her hands on them. So naturally her need turned into my need and I ended up ordering three on blind faith haha...I know makes complete sense.

(L-R) Playa Del Pink, Rio De Rose Gold, Beach Sand

From the name alone I knew these were going to be different from anything that I've used before. They're a liquid metallic eyeshadow that need to be shaken really well before use...and I mean really well. They have a doe foot applicator which makes application easy, but you will either need a separate brush to blend it out or you can always use your finger. I don't find that these crease or fade throughout the day and they set relatively quickly.

(L-R) Playa Del Pink, Rio De Rose Gold, Beach Sand

As to be expected, I picked the three most neutral colours because I am boring and predictable but I can't help myself. The colours are gorgeous and pigmented. Playa Del Pink is a very icy light pink and is the most metallic on the eyes out of the three. I find that since it's so metallic it kind of tends to make the eyes look a little crepey, so just keep that in mind. Rio De Rose Gold is a very warm coppery rose gold and is probably my favourite out of the three. I wish Beach Sand was an actual light bronze but it's a lot darker than it appears in the picture. This would be great for a bronze smokey eye but seeing that I don't typically wear a smokey eye I'll have to figure out how else to make this work.

Overall, I think these are great and if you're thinking of buying them you won't be disappointed. What are your thoughts on these? Have you tried any of the other colours? They have two really nice jewell toned ones but I'm not brave enough O_o

See you soon!
