Review: Kielhl's Skincare

I had something completely different planned for today's post however, the said product magically has gone missing and is nowhere to be found (a.k.a. it has found it's way into my sister's makeup bag...sticky fingers, I tell you). So today is going to be another skincare chat.

For some reason where skincare is concerned I tend to go from brand to brand...like here fore example, my regime at the moment is predominately Kiehl's based. Does anyone else find that they do that? I don't even think I do it purposefully. Anyway, I've been using these three bits since December and thought it would be a good time to do a review since I'm nearly finished with the facial cleanser.

Ultra Facial Cleanser: this is a gentle creamy cleanser meant for all skin types and it is supposed to remove all traces of dirt and makeup while still leaving you skin pH-balanced. I really like this cleanser. There's no frills or ridiculously giant claims...it just simply does what it's supposed to. My skin doesn't feel tight, there's no residue and it doesn't break me out. I'm one of those people who removes their makeup prior to washing their face but if you're not this can do the job easily for you. I would definitely repurchase and would recommend however, I want to see how this compare to the Cetaphil and Cerave cleansers.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate: this is a bit of a cult classic...the claims, "A replenishing elixir of pure essential oils and distilled botanicals to visibly restore the appearance of skin by morning". Being able to see a difference over night is a pretty big claim in my books. Honestly, I didn't see anything life changing happening over night but I do still really like this (obviously, you can see my bottle is half full)! My face feels very soft and I think I can see a difference in the amount of redness I have on my face. I know some of you may be weary of putting an oil on your face but trust me this is extremely light, absorbs quickly and I haven't noticed any breakouts. All in all I would repurchase sometime down the line...watch I bet you the moment I stop using this I'll notice the difference...panic...and then rush out and go repurchase.

Clearly Corrective Hydrating Moisture Emulsion: this moisturiser is supposed to help restore hydration as well as improving skin clarity and discolouration. Aahh this moisturiser...this had such great potential. It's light and absorbs quickly but still gives great hydration but...and there is a HUGE but...this has glitter in it. GLITTER!? What the heck is glitter doing in a skincare line? I don't understand. Unless I'm purposefully putting a MAC glitter on my eye...I don't want glitter anywhere near my products and that's including skincare and makeup. I don't like glitter. So unless you want to look like you just got done doing arts and crafts with a classroom filled with kindergarteners who covered you in glue and then proceeded to dip you in a vat of glitter...I would  run (not walk) away from this product.

Have any of you tried anything from Keihl's? What are some of your must have skincare products? As always thanks for stopping by and I'll see you next week!

  1. I'm with you on the glitter thing. Glitter does not belong in moisturizer.

    1. A few days in after using it I kept noticing glitter a really fine glitter all over my hands and couldn't for the life of me figure out where it was coming from, so that alone was making me go a little crazy. Ugh whyyyy ruin a perfectly good moisturiser!?

  2. I'm currently on a Khiels kick also. I have finished two samples of Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate and I think I need to go buy it. Super lovely serum for morning that sits nice under makeup. The avocado eye cream is a great products also. Basic no fuss hydrating cream I really enjoy.

    1. Oooh that serum sounds really interesting...I just might have to check it out because my Origins serum is on it's final last couple of pumps. I remember that being the firs eye cream I ever tried and really enjoying...Kiehls is such a solid line. There's something for everyone!
