Review: Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser

Long time no blog post! I'm officially done with my first year of graduate school and it feels so good. Speaking of graduate school...I had exams all last week a.k.a the makeup was kept at a minimum. I'm probably one of the only people around that hasn't tried Laura Mercier's tinted moisturisers. Well, I put it to the test over a 3 week period and I'm ready to give my two cents.

First off, I'm a combination/oily skin type...leaning more oily come the summer months, which is why I plumped for the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Oil Free version instead of the original. I was matched with the shade "Nude", which is said to be for "light beige/for fair to light skin tones". Now I have no idea how to describe my skin tone anymore. I have strong yellow undertones and have always considered myself to be light/medium complexion...maybe around a NC25-30(?). That being said, although this is very forgiving it is slightly too neutral and oxidises and looks a bit too dark and pink for me.

As you would expect, this has very sheer coverage, it more so just evens out the skin tone and if I have any type of spot I want to cover then I have to go in with concealer, but it's a tinted moisturiser so I wasn't expecting coverage. This is said to help control oil but I don't find that it does at all. It never sets and stays tacky on the skin if I don't powder it and I have to blot maybe 3 hours into wearing it.

Overall, I think it's a nice quick and light base for lazy days but at this point I don't think I would repurchase. If you're in the market for a good tinted moisturiser then this is a good option to check out. I just wish they had more yellow based shades.

Have you tried this? If so what are your thoughts or do you already have a HG tinted moisturiser?
