Shopping The Stash Vol. 1

We all love shopping and buying new products but honestly, for me nothing beats shopping my own stash and absolutely falling in love with products that I just felt "meh" about before.

That's what we have goin' on this week and here are my thoughts...

Becca Ombre Nudes Eye Palette

As boring as this may look, this was love at first application for me so this was more of a "ah I totally forgot about you, what happened!?" sort of realisation for me.

This is perfect for so many reasons. The formula is all matte, easy to blend, and they are all rather neutral. Nothing is too cool or too warm, which I really appreciate these days. You can use it on the eyes, eyebrows, and contour in a pinch.

I don't know what it is but I have a problem with matte shadows looking too powdery making them cling to every texture on my eyelid which ends up making me look straight up f*&%ing old and haggard. I'm 27, I don't want to look 97. You won't find that here.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders and Blush

Ah a product that I just never really saw the hype and wrote off...and now I see it, I SEE IT. You either love or hate the Ambient Lighting powders and as far as Diffused Light goes, it's love. I use this as a last step under the eyes in that triangle type area, on the bridge of the nose, middle of the forehead, and chin (yeah yeah basically everywhere). The effect is subtle but noticeable at the same time and this shade in particular really brightens the face and mellows out redness.

Now I always thought the blushes were nice but it was never anything that compelled me enough to buy another shade...until (say it with me) "I started using the Wayne Goss # 14 brush". Do you hate me yet? I know change the broken record already, but I love that a brush can change the way I feel about other products in my collection.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser Oil Free

This has got to be my MOST favourite rediscovery produce. period.

I remember when I first tried this and thought, yeah sure it's nice but it didn't knock my socks off. Well, now it's knocking all the socks off...all the socks are off and thrown around the room never to be picked up again.

I think the thing that I never really cared for about this is the fact that it always felt tacky to me. That's something I hate and will automatically write something off for it. The key is to let it set for about 5-10 minutes before powdering and it makes all the difference. I also like it best with a Beauty Blender, just an fyi.

It just makes you look fresh, effortless, and perfect without the whole "Oh my gosh, your skin looks amazing what foundation are you wearing!?". No no, you just have the look of amazing skin.

So, that wraps up this post. What do you guys think of shopping your stash? Have you found any rediscoveries because of it? I hope you're having a great day and thanks for stopping by.
