Review: Tom Ford Cream Colour For Eyes

Originally I wasn't going to review these because anything that's Tom Ford and limited edition sells out during pre-order and that's just annoying...but they're surprisingly still available so I thought I'd have a quick chat about them.

Tom Ford released 8 new shades in the Cream Colour For Eyes formula and of the 8 I picked up 3 (I already had Spice from his summer 2015 collection)

I personally really like them; they're easy to work with, blend nicely, and have a mousse like texture. However, if I don't wear a primer underneath these they'll crease all over the place but I've read some reviews where people don't have that problem.

Another thing I really like is they give the eye this kind of undone look...sophisticated grunge. It might not be for everyone but I've never been into perfected anything and where hair and makeup is concerned I like the lived in look.

Lastly, they can either be applied as a wash of colour or can be built up for a more intense finish both ways give your eyes a wet look.

Pictured above is Burnished Copper. I really had no idea what to expect with this one because as far as I know this isn't a re-promote.

Colour wise it's a khaki green with bronze/brown undertones. The colour is gorgeous and gives that grunge-y look with minimal effort I was speaking about earlier.

I did my sister's makeup the other day and this looked stunning on her and really made her eyes look big and bright (if that makes sense).

Even though this is technically a neutral colour, me being the boring person that I am find it maybe just a tad to khaki for me to get a lot of use out of. I'll probably end up giving this to my sister because she loved it so much anyway.

Opale, the middle shade, is a whitened champagne. It looks like it has a pink hue to it but that doesn't really transfer onto the eye which I'm happy about.

Of course this is gorgeous on the inner corner of the eye but what I really like this for is placing this on the centre of the lid over the top of either of the two other shades.

It's like slap you in the face kind of pretty and really brightens the eye.

Lastly, Platinum is of course my favourite (so predictable)...I think it's actually a cult favourite and for good reason.

It's a silvered pale bronze and it's one of those shades that you could wear day or night, just sweep it on and go. I'm sitting here shaking my head over how much I love this shade.

(L-R) Burnished Copper, Platinum, Opale

You didn't think I'd leave you hanging without any swatches did you? Don't they catch the light nicely? Of course something like this isn't a necessity and there are plenty of other great cream shadows that won't cost you your soul (Maybelline Bad To The Bronze for instance) but I'm happy with my purchase and I recommend them.

What do you guys think of them? What are some of your favourite cream shadows?
